Shakespeare!!
We have been learning about William Shakespeare this term. It has been great to see how much the students engaged in this. Shakespeare Folders went home a few days ago. Shakespeare moulded a lot of the language we use today and his plays have themes that are still relevant now. In fact, Gnomeo and Juliet is obviously based on one of his plays, and The Lion King is based on Macbeth.
William Shakespeare was really good at poems - Fletcher.
His Mum was called Mary and his dad was called John - Molly.
He died in 1616 - Caitlin.
He made up phrases and words we still use today - Olive.
He died on his 52 birthday - Noah.
He wrote very good plays that are still being played today - Andres.
He built the Globe theatre. It burnt down though. - Poppy.
He came up with good insults. - Tom.
He saw his first play when he was 5 years old - Amelia.
He had three children called Susanna, Hamnet and Judith - Shaun.

Christmas Cooking
We had a fabulous day cooking on Monday! We made Chocolate Balls, White Christmas and Fruit and Spice Muffins. All the students took home a package with one of each of these in it, as well as sampling some in class. The recipes are all in their Christmas Cooking Book which they will be bringing home tomorrow.

1:1 MacBook Program
Hello All
The 1:1 MacBook Program starts for your child next year. If you haven't bought a computer yet, and you plan to over the holidays, you can bring it in to the school office to be imaged anytime during the two days before school goes back next year. It is anticipated that the MacBooks will be used from Day 1 in Year 4 so they will need to be prepared.
Thank you

End of Year Concert Information
Dear Parents and Families,
The end of the school year is fast approaching and we are preparing for our annual End of Year Concert.
This year, the concert will be held on the evening of Wednesday 7th December on the school oval. It is always a memorable evening with each year group performing an item, the presentation of class LEAF awards and a celebration of a successful school year. The evening will begin at 5.30pm and should finish by approximately 7.30pm.

It is always a memorable evening with each year group performing an item, the presentation of class LEAF awards and a celebration of a successful school year. The evening will begin at 5.30pm and should finish by approximately 7.30pm.
The theme of the concert this year is 'AGPS: At the Movies'. All K-6 students have been rehearsing and preparing for the night and I know they can't wait to perform for you all!
On the night we will have the parent spectator area roped off into two sections:
1. The first section will be for blankets and people sitting on the ground.
2. The second area behind the blanket area will be for fold out chairs and people standing up.
We hope that by doing this, everyone can get a good view and enjoy the night.
Please note the following important details:
- This year we have over 1100 students participating in the End of Year Concert which makes it a huge logistical event to plan and run on the night. The movement and transitions of such a large number of students is difficult to manage and must take precedence.
- Students need to be dropped off in costume at their classroom at 5.00pm so that teachers can walk students down to the oval and get everyone into position for a prompt 5.30pm start. The area for the students will be roped off and only school staff will be permitted to enter this area.
- Immediately after the Kindergarten and PP students have performed, parents will be asked to collect their children from teachers.
- At the conclusion of the evening all Year 1-6 students will return to classrooms with teachers and then be released to parents.
- I ask that all parents remember that it is the children and their needs that are our first priority. We will do our best to cater for the needs of the parents too.
- I urge parents to get into the Christmas spirit and the feel of a 'kid friendly' event by being considerate to everyone else when locating their chairs, taking photos and standing up.
As this is a school concert with children attending, please remember that the concert is an alcohol free event.
Finally, when parking your car please stay away from local residents' driveways. In the past, people attending our events such as the Christmas Concert and Open Night have parked in driveways blocking in the owner so that they are unable to leave their own house by car.
The City of Cockburn Ranger is aware of our Christmas Concert and will be present. Please don't risk a fine by parking in the wrong place.
We look forward to seeing you all there!
Kind regards
Frank Pansini

Ooshies
Ooshies have become the latest craze! Unfortunately they have also become the latest distraction in class, just as the Footy Cards were. Due to this they are now BANNED from school. Students have been told they are not to bring them to school. If they chose to swap with other students they must do so outside school hours and off school premises.

Writing Feature: Unicorn by Taylor
Unicorn
Rainbows were brighter than ever! A girl called Chloe was leaning over her window sill and gazed towards the rainbow. Chloe had bright blue eyes that matched the sea, with long blonde hair.
But then Chloe leaned that bit closer. She fell. "Aahhh!" cried Chloe but then a sparkle unicorn saved her then Chloe flew over the rainbow. Chloe screamed with joy "YAY!"
It was a miracle. Then she landed in her room. She watched the unicorn fly away.

Writing Feature: Pokemon by John
Pokemon
On Saturday there was a boy called Ash. His favourite thing to do is catch Pokemon. So he went off with Pikachu, his first ever Pokemon.
So they went to the forest. They found a monkey and the monkey stole Ash's hat and put it on and Ash said "give it back."
Team Rocket came and saw Pikachu and tried to steal him and the monkey evolved into Primate and then Pikachu jumped and got it off Primate.
Pikachu ran where Team Rocket were and then the Primate attacked Team Rocket and the Pikachu gave the hat to Ash. Ash threw a poker ball at Primate and got Primate.

Eagles' Guernseys Auction
Eagles’ Guernseys Auction
As you would be aware, our Aubin Grove Language
Literature team represented Western Australia in the
Australasian Pacific Finals on the Gold Coast last month
and WON! They
competed against 8 other teams from
each Australian State and Territory plus New Zealand. We are
extremely proud of the students and their amazing achievement.
To help recuperate some of the costs that were incurred by
the families of the students, we are holding an online auction of two signed
Eagles Guernseys. They have been signed
by the entire 2016 squad and would make a sensational Christmas present for a
passionate Eagles fan. Many thanks go the Eagles and Ben Sharman for making
this opportunity possible. It is very
much appreciated.
Please click on the link below to place a bid for one of the
shirts. The two highest priced bids,
that are above the reserve price, will each be able to claim one of the
Guernseys.
https://goo.gl/CZAmCY
The auction will be live until Friday 2nd December. Please
share with your friends and family.
Many thanks for your support of our wonderful TOM team.
