Class Stars!!

Our final Class Stars for the year... William, Caitlin, Shaun, Amelia, Shevin and Molly

Shakespeare!!

We have been learning about William Shakespeare this term.  It has been great to see how much the students engaged in this.  Shakespeare Folders went home a few days ago. Shakespeare moulded a lot of the language we use today and his plays have themes that are still relevant now.  In fact, Gnomeo and Juliet is obviously based on one of his plays, and The Lion King is based on Macbeth.

William Shakespeare was really good at poems - Fletcher.

His Mum was called Mary and his dad was called John - Molly.

He died in 1616 - Caitlin.

He made up phrases and words we still use today - Olive.

He died on his 52 birthday - Noah.

He wrote very good plays that are still being played today - Andres.

He built the Globe theatre.  It burnt down though. - Poppy.

He came up with good insults. - Tom.

He saw his first play when he was 5 years old - Amelia.

He had three children called Susanna, Hamnet and Judith - Shaun.

Christmas Cooking

We had a fabulous day cooking on Monday!  We made Chocolate Balls, White Christmas and Fruit and Spice Muffins.  All the students took home a package with one of each of these in it, as well as sampling some in class.  The recipes are all in their Christmas Cooking Book which they will be bringing home tomorrow.

1:1 MacBook Program

Hello All
The 1:1 MacBook Program starts for your child next year.  If you haven't bought a computer yet, and you plan to over the holidays, you can bring it in to the school office to be imaged anytime during the two days before school goes back next year.  It is anticipated that the MacBooks will be used from Day 1 in Year 4 so they will need to be prepared.
Thank you
Julia Calvert

Week 10 - Important Information

We have come to the final week of the year!!  It seems to have passed so quickly.  Here is some important information needed for this week:

Monday
We are cooking in the morning so students can bring an apron if they have them.
It is also Transition Day- from 1.30 - 2.15pm students will be meeting their new teacher in their new classes.

Tuesday
Class Party Day.  Girls bring savoury and boys bring sweet (although if boys want to bring a savoury that's OK).  Any warm food will need to be delivered by 12pm.  Please do not send anything that needs refrigeration as I won't have access. I will bring drinks and plates.
We will also be playing a Christmas Game at the party. Any students that wish to play need to bring in a Christmas Tree decoration (cost around $5) wrapped up.

Thursday
Last day of Year 3.  I have been sending home books as we finish with them so there shouldn't be too much coming home on this day!!
