Family Survey

Dear families

We are seeking your help.  You would have seen the posters around the school telling the school community something big was on its way.  Well, it has arrived!

We, a group of Year 5 & 6 students on behalf of all students at Aubin Grove Primary, want each family to complete a Family Survey we have constructed about our School Community.  Your youngest child (Family Rep) will bring the Survey home on Wednesday and you have until the 8thJune (the following Wednesday) to return it to the same child’s classroom.

Families who complete the survey should fill out the Postcard (attached) with their details and detach it from the survey – this is to retain your anonymity. There will be a return box in the room for you to drop the survey and the postcard into.

We are aiming to have ALL 740 families complete the survey! If you get it back, your family will go into a draw to win one of two $50 vouchers for Gelare. That’s sweet!

Please do it for your kids!  Have it back by Wednesday 8th June.

NAPLAN Information

I have had a few queries about NAPLAN so thought I'd give some information here.

NAPLAN is next week.  We have two tests on Tuesday, 10 May - one first up and one after recess.  The other two tests will be given on Wednesday, 11 May and Thursday, 12 May, during the first sessions.  Please ensure that students arrive on time to school, have a good nights sleep before and a good breakfast.

We have been doing some practise tests in class, which I have marked and asked students to take home.  I have been very impressed with the results from these.  In Year 3 the Bands extend from 1 - 6.  Band 2 is the minimum standard for Year 3 and Band 6 is as high as they can go.  I have written the band on the front of the practise tests, however, this is just a guide and the results may be different in the actual test.

I have set some NAPLAN tasks on Studyladder for students to do. We will do some of these during our computer lessons however, it would be good if they could do some at home also.

At the end of the day, it is one test on one day, and all I ask is that students do their best.  So far they all seem excited rather than worried, which is a good sign.
