Computer Time

Room 24 students have been enjoying using the MacBooks.  So far this term we have been concentrating on logging into the computers, finding the internet and using the address bar to locate sites.  Students have also been enjoying using Studyladder and earning certificates for their completed tasks.  These task are aligned with what we are learning in class.  Students are able to access Studyladder at home and their login and password should be at the front of their Homework book.  We will soon begin Mathletics and then start looking at using the internet for research and using Word and Powerpoint to create documents.

Merit Certificate Recipients

Sorry for the delay.. here are our first Certificate recipients from Room 24: Fletcher and William.  Our next assembly will be tomorrow afternoon.

Parent Interviews - 8 & 9 March

Thank you to those parents who have already returned the Parent/Teacher Interview Booking Sheet.  This went home with students on Friday and spots will be allocated on a first in basis, although I will try and cater for everyones preferred times.

Please remember to select 3 different times for your interview.

Interviews will be held on Tuesday, 8 March from 2.45pm - 4.45pm and Wednesday, 9 March from 12.00pm - 4.45pm.

Week 3 Notes

It has been a great start to the term. Students have been working hard and have definitely earned their weekend.

Parent Representative
Each class at Aubin Grove has a Parent Representative. If you are willing to be Room 24's parent rep please let me know.

Music Blog
To the right is a list of web links including the Aubin Grove Primary School website and Studyladder.  I have added the Aubin Grove Music blog to these links.  Please click on it and see what is happening in music classes across the school.  I will also be adding the Japanese blog link as soon as it is ready.

Tassie Devil Fundraiser
 An email about the Tassie Devil fundraiser was sent out last week.  We are hoping to raise money to help find a cure for the facial tumors that are killing these beautiful Australian animals.  I encourage all parents to help your child get involved in this project.

Choir
Reminder that choir will start on Wednesday at 2.45pm til 3.30pm.

Choir Notice

Yesterday an email was sent regarding Choir trials. The trial date should have been changed to next Wednesday, 24 February. All other details are the same.

School App - Absences

The school app is currently being reviewed and therefore not available to report your child's absence from school.  So if your child is absent from school please either see me in person, write a note, write in your child's diary or call the office.  I will let you know when the app is active again.

Canteen News

Below is a notice from the canteen.

The canteen is open now!

·         The canteen operates from Tuesday to Friday for both recess and lunch orders (lunch only for Kindy and Pre Primary students).

·         To place an order from the canteen, please use Flexischools or order over the counter and ensure all orders are completed by 845am on the day you wish to use the canteen.

·         Please make sure you have updated your children's details on Flexischools (especially their room number) so that the lunches can be delivered to the correct classroom.

·         If your child has any allergies you MUST notify the canteen, in writing, on the day that you are ordering recess and/or lunch.

P & C AGM

The P & C will be holding their AGM this Tuesday at 7pm in the Library.  Everyone is welcome.  Please come and support your school if you are able.

Parent Teacher Night

Thank you to all those parents who were able to come to the Parent Teacher Night last night.  It was a great turn out.  For those parents who were not able to make it, I will be sending home a copy of the handout today.

Please remember if any of your details have changed - address, phone number etc - or there are any new medical concerns with your child - allergies, asthma etc - please notify the office as soon as possible.

Welcome to Room 24's blog.  All the students have made a great start to the year and seem very excited to be back at school after a fabulous holiday.  They are getting used to new routines and a new teacher.
